Sandy Treat founded Summit Habitats in 1981 while he was earning his degree in Real
Estate and Construction Management at the University of Denver. During the early
years, Sandy began renovating homes in the old neighborhoods of Denver, working
hands-on in all phases of construction. Summit Habitats built the Harrison Street
Townhomes in Cherry Creek, Denver, designed by the world-renowned firm Arquitectonica
of Miami, Florida. Harrison Street Townhomes reflected contemporary international
architecture. Upon their completion, Sandy developed and built in-fill homes in
the Washington Park neighborhood. He incorporated new design themes to this area
such as Colorado Western, Southwestern and Traditional Shingle Style. Intrigued
by the exciting architecture and unique building opportunities in the Vail Valley,
Sandy moved Summit Habitats' operations to Vail in 1986.
Since relocating to the Vail Valley, Summit Habitats has become a premier builder
of distinguished residences with Sandy's artistic abilities, refined taste and quest
for perfection exhibited in each home. With a team of knowledgeable staff dedicated
to producing the highest quality of workmanship, we focus on each home with great
enthusiasm and intensity. As a result of the number of homes we have built, we are
acutely aware of the critical home building processes from the initial planning
stage to the final punch list completion.
Summit Habitats has built extraordinary homes in Vail, Beaver Creek, Cordillera,
Bachelor Gulch, Creamery Ranch, Pilgrim Downs and Steamboat Springs. In addition
to building custom homes, we have built several multi-family communities and landmark
commercial buildings. These developments include the Dakotas, Bachelor Springs,
and Mountain Retreat at Arrowhead, Club Cottages at Cordillera, The Haymeadows and
Larkspur Villas at Beaver Creek, the Inn and Suites at Riverwalk and 1st and Main
in downtown Edwards, Mission Ridge at Singletree, and in Steamboat Springs, Waterstone
and the Lodge and Townhomes at EagleRidge.
The Pointe represents mountain modern architecture, Green Build and New Urbanism
at its best. A short hike to the center of Edwards on a private meandering trail
brings yoga, hiking along the Eagle River, coffee at Starbucks, exquisite dining,
movies, boutique shopping and groceries right to the doorsteps of The Pointe homeowners.
Enjoying life at The Pointe is easy.
